TruePaw chicken necks are made from fresh chicken necks of Latvian origin using freeze-drying. The product is first frozen, after which moisture is removed under vacuum through sublimation. This process helps preserve the natural taste, aroma, and nutritional value.

The neck contains meat, bone, cartilage, and connective tissue — natural sources of calcium, phosphorus, and collagen. Chewing takes longer, so the neck provides not only a reward but also a short-lasting activity for your pet.

The only protein source is chicken neck. No grains, preservatives, or additives.

How many chicken necks can you give a dog per day?

Treats should not exceed approximately 10% of a dog’s daily calorie intake. For small-breed dogs (up to 10 kg), one treat per day is usually sufficient; for medium-sized dogs, one to two; and for large-breed dogs, two to three. Start with a smaller amount and see how your pet tolerates it. Remember to reduce the portion of their regular food accordingly.

Is the treat ground up or a whole piece?

The package contains whole chicken necks that have not been ground, pressed, or molded. What you see in the picture is exactly the same cut that goes into the bag-the only processing involved is gentle freeze-drying. There is only one ingredient: chicken necks.

Are freeze-dried chicken necks suitable for puppies?

They are suitable from around six months of age, once the puppy's permanent teeth have come in. We do not recommend them for younger puppies. Always supervise your puppy the first few times and make sure they chew the treat rather than swallow it whole. If you are unsure, consult your veterinarian.

Do chicken necks really help clean teeth?

Their crunchy, porous texture helps mechanically remove soft plaque from the surface of the teeth while chewing. Chewing itself also stimulates saliva production and blood circulation in the gums. However, this is not a replacement for brushing your dog's teeth: treats cannot remove existing tartar - only a veterinarian can do that.

What is the difference between freeze-dried and dried?

Freeze-drying takes place without heat: the product is first frozen, and then, under vacuum, the ice turns directly into vapor without passing through a liquid state. This helps preserve almost all of the nutritional value, natural flavor, and aroma, while making the meat porous and lightweight. Conventional drying, or dehydration, uses heat in the range of 50-70 °C. The final product is denser and firmer, and some heat-sensitive vitamins are lost during the process.
