TruePaw chicken hearts are made from fresh meat of Latvian origin using freeze-drying. The product is first frozen, after which moisture is removed under vacuum through sublimation. This process helps preserve the natural taste, aroma, and nutritional value.
Chicken heart is lean muscle meat and a natural source of taurine. Cats can synthesize very little of this amino acid themselves and obtain it primarily through their diet.
The pieces are small and easy to break apart, making them suitable as a reward for small breeds or puppies as well. Their rich flavor works where other treats are left untouched.
The only protein source is chicken heart. No grains, preservatives, or additives. A transparent single-ingredient composition lets you know exactly what your pet is getting.

What is the difference between chicken hearts and beef hearts?
Both are natural sources of taurine, but chicken hearts are noticeably smaller, making them more convenient for cats and small-breed dogs without the need to break them into pieces. Beef heart is larger, leaner, and richer in iron, B vitamins, and coenzyme Q10 - making it more suitable for larger dogs.
Is the treat ground or a whole piece?
These are whole chicken hearts, not ground or shaped. They go into the bag just as they are - which is why the pieces may vary slightly in shape and size. There is just one ingredient: chicken hearts.
Can I give chicken hearts to my cat every day?
Yes, as long as the amount is small. This is a treat and complementary food, not a complete diet, so it should stay within approximately 10% of your cat's daily calorie intake - in practice, this means a few pieces. The rest of the diet should consist of complete and balanced food.
Are they suitable for pets with sensitive digestion?
Chicken heart is lean muscle meat with no additives or grains, and in freeze-dried form it is easy to digest, so pets with sensitive digestion generally tolerate it well. If the digestive issues are specifically related to chicken, choose a different protein source, such as venison.
What is the difference between freeze-dried and dried?
Freeze-drying takes place without heat: the product is first frozen, and then, under vacuum, the ice turns directly into vapor without passing through a liquid state. This helps preserve almost all of the nutritional value, natural flavor, and aroma, while making the meat porous and lightweight. Conventional drying, or dehydration, uses heat in the range of 50-70 °C. The final product is denser and firmer, and some heat-sensitive vitamins are lost during the process.
