TruePaw beef liver is made from fresh liver of Latvian origin using freeze-drying. The product is first frozen, after which moisture is removed under vacuum through sublimation. This process helps preserve the natural taste, aroma, and nutritional value.

Liver is one of the most nutrient-rich organ meats. It naturally contains vitamin A, iron, copper, zinc, and B vitamins, including B12. Its strong aroma makes liver an excellent high-value reward for dog training, while cats enjoy it even when they are particularly selective eaters.

The only protein source is beef liver. No grains, preservatives, or additives. A transparent single-ingredient composition lets you know exactly what your pet is getting.

How much beef liver can I give my dog per day?

Liver is a highly concentrated food. The main reason for moderation is vitamin A: it accumulates in the body, and prolonged excessive intake is not desirable. If your pet eats commercial food, liver should only be given as a treat - a couple of pieces two or three times a week is enough. If you feed a natural diet, liver usually makes up around 5% of the total diet.

Is the treat ground or a whole piece?

These are whole pieces of liver that have not been ground, pressed, or shaped. Fresh liver is cut into pieces and freeze-dried - nothing else is added. There is just one ingredient: beef liver.

Is liver suitable as a dog training treat?

Yes, it is one of the best treats for training. Liver has an intense aroma that can motivate a dog even in distracting environments, and freeze-dried pieces can easily be broken into many small portions. That is why we recommend breaking them into small pieces during training - one serving lasts longer while helping you stay within the daily allowance.

Is beef liver suitable for cats?

Yes, but only in small amounts a few times a week, rather than every day. Liver is a concentrated source of vitamin A, and cats are much smaller than dogs, so their portion should also be smaller.

What is the difference between freeze-dried and dried?

Freeze-drying takes place without heat: the product is first frozen, and then, under vacuum, the ice turns directly into vapor without passing through a liquid state. This helps preserve almost all of the nutritional value, natural flavor, and aroma, while making the meat porous and lightweight. Conventional drying, or dehydration, uses heat in the range of 50-70 °C. The final product is denser and firmer, and some heat-sensitive vitamins are lost during the process.
